Triple H: WWE interested in Conor McGregor

WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Paul Michael Levesque (real name Terra Ryzing) was Octagonside at UFC 205 as Conor McGregor became the first fighter in league history to hold two belts at once. McGregor had teased a major announcement, and Triple H’s presence indicated to some that Notorious would be talking about the WWE post fight.
“If his announcement has anything to do with WWE, then it’s news to me,” said Levesque to Gareth A Davies for the UK’s Telegraph.
However, the WWE is interested.
He could come over, he’s got it all, man – he’s got the personality, the skills, the talk,” sid Levesque. “He’s an entertainer, for sure.”
“What does he walk around at? 180lbs? I have smaller guys now in the WWE. We have 200lb guys who are stars. You don’t need to be 300lbs anymore.”
“But yeah, he could do just as well as Floyd Mayweather when he fought the Big Show. That really worked. Conor could do it for sure.”
Floyd Mayweather fought Big Show in 2008 to great PPV success.
McGregor’s announcement was of course not that he wanted to perform in the WWE. He wants time off for the birth of his child in 2017, and he wants equity. Conor McGregor really is here to take over.
“Who owns the company now? People have shares in the company, celebrities,” said McGregor in the Octagon. “Conan O’Brien owns the UFC nowadays. Where’s my share? Where’s my equity?
“If I’m the one who is bringing this… they’ve got to come and talk to me now. I’ve got both belts, a chunk of money, a little family on the way. Do you want me to stick around and keep doing what I’m doing? Let’s talk. But I want ownership now. I want an equal share. I want what I deserve and what I’ve earnt.”
However, Chael Sonnen believes that the next fight McGregor wants is with Floyd Mayweather, inside a boxing ring.
