Maine’s Dale Hartt describes the world of mixed martial arts best, calling it a fickle beast. That can apply to the action inside the Octagon, where small gloves and one lost second of focus can mean a short night and an L on your record, or to matters outside the arena, where the search for the perfect training formula can be a stressful and lengthy one.

But after a quick stay in Las Vegas, Hartt feels that he’s finally found a home away from home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he has been training with Greg Jackson in preparation for Saturday’s bout against Dennis Siver.
