eNCA, Africa’s CNN, recently did an awesome mini documentary on EFC Worldwide fighter Themba Gorimbo. Fighters coming up from the streets has been common for generations, but Gorimbo’s upbringing is at another level of hard.

Born in Zimbabwe, Gorimbo was orphaned at 13. He jumped the border with South Africa and became the vagrant sleeping on the city street, the jobseeker on the side of the road, the starving orphan, the illegal diamond miner, the torture survivor. He found MMA and is now 5-0, and fights for the EFC Worldwide lightweight title on Saturday vs. champion Leon Mynhardt.
