At UFC 179 flyweights Scott Jorgensen and Wilson Reis has started off fast exchanging punches and scrambling for take downs and control. However as Reis started to gain some momentum he landed a solid left kick to the liver that hurt Jorgensen and allowed him to rush into a take down and secure a submission win. Jorgesen tweeted a picture of his side from the single kick:

For those unfamiliar with the effect of a liver kick, well basically it sucks. It’s not uncommon for fighters to take shots off the head or face and fight through the pain, but a properly placed liver kick does not just cause pain, but almost makes your body shut down and really there is no way just tough throught it.
