Believe it or not, we are now two-thirds of the way through 2023, so the panel that selects ONE Championship’s end of year award winners is only four months away from embarking on the arduous task of selecting the best fighters and finishes of the year.
The past eight months have produced numerous memorable moments, and plenty more are, no doubt, in store as the promotion returns with back-to-back ONE Fight Night events on September 29 and October 6.
While “ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham” and ONE Fight Night 15 may throw up more nominees for the prestigious awards, we’ve broken down who we think would win if the accolades were handed out today.

Muay Thai Fighter of the Year: Jonathan Haggerty
There will be an abundance of candidates for the muay Thai awards, given the sheer number of fights staged by ONE in its weekly Friday Fights series, but one of the stars that has made a profound impact so far this year is Jonathan Haggerty.
“The General” shocked the world at ONE Fight Night 9 in April when he crushed longtime ONE bantamweight muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama inside one round to take the coveted crown, and he’s undoubtedly one of the most entertaining strikers on the ONE roster.
The British sensation will look to add a second world title to his collection when he locks horns with bantamweight MMA king Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title at ONE Fight Night 15.

Submission Grappler Of The Year: Mikey Musumeci
Mikey Musumeci has shown why he is regarded as one of the world’s best grapplers so far in his ONE Championship tenure.
The American star has been virtually flawless in his five appearances, and he has claimed and defended the inaugural ONE flyweight submission grappling world title in that time.
After dominating strawweight MMA king Jarred Brooks in his latest outing, the 27-year-old is set to take on a different challenge at ONE Fight Night 15 when he faces Japanese legend Shinya Aoki in an openweight submission grappling contest.
If he makes it four wins from four in 2023, it will be hard to deny that the American has had the best campaign out of the grappling roster in ONE.

Kickboxing Knockout of the Year: Superbon Singha Mawynn
Another hotly contested bracket will be the 2023 Kickboxing Knockout of the Year.
However, Superbon Singha Mawynn‘s highlight-reel head kick finish of Tayfun Ozcan will be hard to ignore when the panel makes their pick.
The Thai star rebounded from his shocking ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title loss to Chingiz Allazov earlier this year in the best way possible at ONE Fight Night 11 in June.
Superbon will have a chance to make another statement and claim yet another world title when he challenges featherweight muay Thai king Tawanchai PK.Saenchai in the ONE Fight Night 15 headliner.
