Another Superlek Kiatmoo9 clinic highlighted ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video this past weekend, as “The Kicking Machine” dismantled late replacement opponent Danial Williams in the main event.

While the March 24 spectacle at the Singapore Indoor Stadium answered many of the questions that were on fans’ lips prior to fight night, the event also presented a series of new possibilities to ponder.

Here are some of the biggest questions that are lingering in our minds.

1. Superlek’s next opponent should be Rodtang, but for which belt?

Superlek was at his scintillating best against Williams, as he delivered another devastating knockout in the third round.

After the fight, the ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion made no secret of his desire to finally lock horns with his originally scheduled opponent – Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon.

Superlek also laid out a further stipulation for the prospective showdown – he’d like it to be for his Thai countryman’s ONE flyweight muay Thai world title.

The pair were slated to lock horns for the kickboxing gold at ONE Fight Night 8, but Rodtang’s recent injury forced him to withdraw from the contest.

Also, it is worth noting that “The Iron Man” does have a world title defense against Mexican knockout artist Edgar Tabares scheduled for the sold-out ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5.

Should Rodtang come out of the battle unscathed, perhaps it will be a case of who blinks first when the terms are negotiated to rebook the dream matchup between the pound-for-pound striking greats.

2. Seo Hee Ham is next for an atomweight world title shot, but against who?

Following her decision victory over heated rival Itsuki Hirata (6-2), Seo Hee Ham (26-8) was anointed as the next challenger for the ONE women’s atomweight world title by ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Ham, the No. 2-ranked contender, ripped through the Japanese rising star, but the atomweight title picture remains a complicated puzzle.

Divisional queen Angela Lee is taking time away to mourn the tragic loss of her younger sister, Victoria. It would be unfair to speculate on a timeframe for such a process, and ONE will give her as much time as she needs.

There has been no announcement regarding whether or not Ham would contest for an interim title, but should that happen, then perhaps her opponent could be revealed at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5.

There, No. 1-ranked Stamp Fairtex collides with Alyse Anderson, and the winner of that clash could potentially meet Ham for a possible interim crown.

3. Is this the end for Alex Silva?

Former ONE strawweight world champion Alex Silva (12-9) is running out of time.

The 40-year-old star fell to unbeaten Japanese newcomer Keito Yamakita (8-0) in a back-and-forth MMA battle at ONE Fight Night 8, leaving his hopes of regaining the world title hanging by a thread.

“Little Rock” is a longtime staple of ONE Championship, having joined the promotion way back in 2012 and reigning over the strawweight division for 154 days after capturing the strap back in December 2017.

However, Silva has lost some very close bouts in recent years to the likes of top-five ranked contenders Gustavo Balart and Hiroba Minowa, as well as former titleholders Joshua Pacio and Yosuke Saruta. In fact, three of those defeats came via split decision.

Don’t get it twisted, though. The Brazilian is by no means out of his depth in the ONE circle and, clearly, he can still hang with the strawweight division’s elite. But even a close split-decision loss at this stage of the game moves him farther and farther away from the gold.
