Guys, there are many things that the members of the Hammer House gym have said or done over the years that have not been easy.
Wether those things happened in the cage or out, they were always approached with humility and the forethought that whatever was in front of us that we would come out victorious.
It both pains and embarrasses all of us to have to ever ask for anything that we haven’t deserved to receive.
Mark Coleman is in a position right now that he is in need of multiple surgeries in order to get him where he needs to be physically.
Unfortunately this is not the first time we had to reach out to people in order to help Mark with this surgery.
The person that helped in the past has asked to remain anonymous and now the expenses have grown to the point that he needs more help.
He’s in the hospital right now and is being pumped with antibiotics due to the infection in his hip. He needs multiple surgeries and the expenses to do so have grown beyond our means.
I have wanted to do this a while ago, but Marks pride has always stood in the way of me making this post. This has not been easy on Mark or I and we truly hope that you understand the humility experienced when making this information public.

The UFC Hall of Famer, 50, had the first hip replacement and then accepted a job coaching on TUF 19.
I went out there and I probably didn’t rehab properly, Coleman told Steven Marrocco for MMAjunkie. I couldn’t resist wrestling those guys. One month after I got back, I bent over to pick up a piece of paper, and the whole hip shot out the side pocket. That’s happened about four times, and I’m pretty much living in fear because I don’t know when the damn thing is going to pop out.
Coleman was supposed to have a second hip replacement on Monday, but doctors discovered a severe infection in his body.
I’m not out of the woods yet,” he said. “They’ve got to figure out what the infection is, otherwise they’re going to put in another hip and it’s going to get infected again.”
You don’t sign up for Olympic wrestling and the UFC and expect to be walking in high heels when you’re done.
It’s pretty hard when it’s difficult to just get out of bed. You go from the toughest man in the world to struggling to get out of bed. It’s part of the game, but that’s the way it goes.
Coleman said he is unemployed currently, and has struggled to keep up with his $800 per month insurance costs. He expects it will take two months to recover after his temporary hip is replaced with a newer one. Despite his medical challenges, “The Hammer” said he would love to be employed as a brand ambassador.
I would love to have a part-time job with the UFC, he said. They could find something and keep me busy.
Coleman’s voice broke when told donations had edged into five figures.
It’s humbling, he said. I guess people do care.
