The 5 reasons the MMA world hates Brock Lesnar was such a hit, that I decided to make another 5 reasons list. This time I’m setting my sites on another hated figure (at least to the UFC MMA fans) in the MMA world, and that figure would be the one and only Kimbo Slice. Now, one thing i should clear up. This blog isn’t to try and just hammer on fighters like Brock and Kimbo, but instead it’s more to shed a light as to why we feel the way we do towards these fighters. So without further ado, the 5 reasons we hate Kimbo Slice.

1. He fought for Elite XC. I think it’s pretty safe to say, that unless you are Gina Carano if you were a fighter that was in any way associated with Elite XC you are pretty much universally hated. When UFC fans first saw Elite XC come on CBS, I’m willing to bet money that they all collectively said, Oh this is Bull ***. They of course were right as this organization was wrought with rumors of pay offs and other unethical practices. Since Kimbo was their poster boy, he ends up getting all the flak.

2. He got famous on YouTube. Ok, this one might be a little unfair. Since YouTube can definitely be argued as a legitimate platform for self promotion. However, in my opinion, if your claim to fame as a well known fighter is that you are an internet sensation for beating up people in the street and not professionals in the octagon, then most likely you won’t gain the amount of respect you were expecting. It also most likely pisses off the amateur MMA fighters who are struggling to get into the big leagues, and then they see this street brawler get it handed to him on a silver platter because he has the following. Granted, the following is legit, but we still hate him for it.
