Teixeira out of Rashad fight at UFN 61, Bigfoot vs. Mir replacing it

A knee injury suffered by Glover Teixeira forced him from the fight with Rashad Evans at UFN 61. Bigfoot vs. Frank Mir is being brought in as main event from UFC 184.

2014 was a hard year for the UFC’s bottom line, with estimates that profit was down 40%. Much of that loss was due to injuries forcing the cancellation of major, lucrative fights.

We are now one week into 2015, and four main event or co-main event fights have been hit by injuries.

The latest is a knee injury to Glover Teixeira, forcing him from the fight with Rashad Evans at UFC Fight Night 61 on Feb 22 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. There is no immediate substitute available, so Antonio Silva vs. Frank Mir is being moved from UFC 184 on Feb 28 in LA to the Brazil event a week earlier.
