Teixeira: Jones will beat Gustafsson, and that’s good

Wednesday night was a big one for Glover Teixeira.

He beat Ryan Bader in main event, in the 1st round, via TKO, in front of his hometown, earning knockout of the night. That pushed his win stream to an astonishing 20 in a row (five in the UFC), and earned him a shot at the winner of the title fight between light heavyweght champion Jon Jones and challenger Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165 on September 21.

Teixeira thinks that Jones will win, and that is how he likes it.

“My dream is to get the belt, but I believe Jon Jones will win,” Teixeira told MMA Junkie. “That’s the way I see it, and I definitely prefer to fight him, in a certain manner because Jon Jones has a better name. He’s been a champ for a long time, so whoever goes to face him has to be very focused, very well-trained.”

“The knockout power, I believe I have it, and if I hit him, he’s going to go down.”
