American Top Team fighter, Thiago Tavares, has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming bout with Melvin Guillard at this month’s UFC 114 in Las Vegas.
The information was disclosed exclusively to BJPENN.COM while on the phone with Alex Davis, the man who represents all of the ATT fighters. He stated that Tavares recently hyper extended his elbow in training. Which is the second injury of this sort to plague the lightweight prospect and as a result he will not be able to compete on the Rampage vs. Evans card.
In what would have been Thiago’s 9th fight in the UFC, the bout with Guillard would have brought the winner one step closer to contender status.
