For the time being the only women’s division in the UFC is the bantamweight division ruled by champion Ronda Rousey. Although a few straw weight bouts have taken place, the division will really take hold when a champion is crowned on December 12th at the Ultimate Fighter Season 20 Finale.

The introduction of the division will bring a new crop of women to the UFC, some of whom have history with the existing bantamweights. Miesha Tate has recently said that she would be willing to drop ten pounds for the chance to fight some of those women she isn’t a big fan of:

Tate said Friday before UFC 180 weigh-ins here at ArendaCiudad de Mexico that she would be interested in taking on Ultimate Fighter contestants FeliceHerrig and Angela Magana at a catchweight. Tate said she would even be willing to cut down to 125 pounds for those fights.

“Oh yeah,” Tate said. “Please. That would be great.”

Tate and Herrig have gone back and forth on Twitter recently. Herrig and Magana each have an ongoing feud with Tate’s good friend and training partner Heather Jo Clark, another TUFcastmate. The beef between Herrig and Clark started years ago. And the Magana-Clark rivalry has been featured prominently on this season of the reality show.

Tate said she would actually be more interested in fighting Magana than Herrig.

“I don’t know if [Herrig is] necessarily a bad person,” Tate said. “She’s just kind of annoying, because she’s really dramatic sometimes and it just kind of rubs me the wrong way. Angela, on the other hand, is a complete moron and she’s very hypocritical and she’s rude and she’s a bully and I can’t stand her.”

The UFC currently doesn’t have a hundred and twenty five pound division and with enough women to make matches at bantamweight and straw weight it is unlikely these fights would be made, but you never know.
