UFC women’s bantamweights Miesha Tate and Jessica Eye fight on Saturday at UFC on FOX 16. Trash talk puts asses in seats and can even get a title shot. When there were delays in making this fight, Eye called out Tate to SIGN THE CONTRACT!!!

I just thought it made Jessica look dumb because everybody knows that we didn’t have a fight contract for a date that was never set for the June 6 card, said Tate to Steven Muehlhausen for FanSided. We were in talks and that’s what we were hoping for. I really wanted that. It was never confirmed. Then she was like you didn’t sign your contract. I’m like well we both know the UFC doesn’t send you fight contracts for dates that aren’t confirmed yet. They don’t send you blank spots on your contracts and say sign this and when you’re fighting, we will let you know. They get all their ducks in a row, they send it to you, you sign it, you know exactly when you are fighting, who you are fighting and how much you’re getting paid to fight.

The fact is it was never set in stone and we never received contracts. It was a ploy for her to try to get her fans to think for some reason that I was stalling or delaying to fight her. When we actually got our fight contracts for this date, I signed mine right away and tried to spin it back in her face and be like now where’s your contract now that we have a real contract?

I feel like she’s saying it more to convince herself more than anyone else. When I hear her talking trash, there’s no real reason she can have any personal dislike for me because we’ve always been nice to each other before. We were slated to fight each other. Now suddenly, it’s like she’s turned over this new leaf. She’s trying to be tough. I think it’s really because she’s nervous. A lot of people feel like all of a sudden they have to talk a big game, say all these things and try to convince people why they are going to win this fight.

She knows she’s stepping into deep waters and this is going to be the biggest and toughest challenge of her career. I think she’s talking to more convince herself than anybody else.

The winner of Cupcake vs. Evil may well get a shot at the winner of division champion Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia at UFC 190 on August 1, 2015 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
