Struve’s UFC 175 fight cancelled minutes before following fainting spell
“They thought it was a panic attack, and they hooked him up to the machine,” said UFC president Dana White. “But they’re taking him to do more tests.”
Stefan Struve’s 16-month return to the Octagon has been extended further still, on literally the eve of his return fight vs. Matt Mitrione.
On March 3, 2013 Mark Hunt broke Stefan Struve’s jaw. In August Struve was diagnosed with a leaking aortic valve and an enlarged heart. His medical team recommended a regimen of drugs, rather than surgery, to address the issue. By April Struve was cleared to return to fighting, and a fight with Matt Mitrione was scheduled.
Then Struve passed out in the locker room before the fight and had an elevated heart rate. As a precaution, the commission doctors recommended that the fight be canceled.

Struve will hopefully test well over the next couple of days, and the fight can be rescheduled.
