Strikeforce has chosen not to renew Joe Riggs’ contract after his deal recently expired despite Diesel having actually won a pair of consecutive bouts including a victory at Strikeforce Challengers 10 in August and a first round TKO at a King of the Cage event a few weeks ago.

Riggs, who is 34-11 overall with an incredible thirty-one wins coming by way of TKO/submission, is 6-1 in his last seven bouts with the only loss being a unanimous decision to Bellator welterweight Jay Hieron in January at Strikeforce – Miami. Among the group he’s found success against are notable names like Baroni, Kendall Grove, and Strikeforce welterweight champ Nick Diaz (which ultimately lead to their infamous hospital brawl in the aftermath of their match-up).
