Jorge Masvidal def. K.J. Noons via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Masvidal showed superiority is all aspects of the MMA game, including, surprizingly, boxing. While Noons was never less than game, it was Gamebred who pulled off a convincing win and presumably a shot at Lightweight champion Gil Melendez.

Daniel Cormier def. Jeff Monson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

In a night that was not without controversy, Cormier clearly won all three rounds, using his wrestling to avoid a ground fight and land some ferocious strikes.

Chad Griggs def. Valentijn Overeem by TKO in round 1.

Aging warrior Chad Griggs defeated aging warrior Valentijn Overeem in an exciting fashion, via technical knockout in the very first round. Overeem clearly tapped to strikes, but the referee missed it and called the contest on his own, leaving the official verdict as TKO.

Alistair’s older brother opened with a head kick, but Griggs quickly clinched and took it to the cage where he executed a huge slam. Valentijn got a kimura from bottom, but Griggs fought through it and pounded out Overeem for the win.
