Ex-football star Herschel Walker drew more viewers than Showtime usually gets for a mixed martial arts program.
Last Saturday’s Strikeforce show that included the MMA debut of Walker drew 517,000 viewers, according to a news release touting the concurrent replay of UFC 107 on Spike TV. Only last August’s broadcast of Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg has drawn more MMA viewers on Showtime.

The UFC 107 replay drew 2.2 million viewers on Spike, coming in at No. 1 for the day among males 18-to-34 and18-to-49. Keep in mind that Showtime is a premium channel carried in fewer homes than Spike, which is usually included in basic or extended basic cable and satellite TV packages.
