Having lost his first fight in seven Octagon appearances August 1st, Neil Magny was quick to jump at the opportunity to fight in the UFN 74 co-main event:
Less than two weeks before Ultimate Fighting Championship’s debut in Saskatoon, the card has a new co-main event.
As a result of welterweight Rick Story suffering an injury during the final days of his training camp, Neil Magny (15-4) will now take on Erick Silva (18-5, 1 NC) in a new second-from-the-top contest on the Aug. 23 Fight Night card at SaskTel Centre.
It’s a quick turnaround for the 28-year-old Magny, who lost via submission to jiu-jitsu ace Demian Maia at UFC 190 on Aug. 1. Prior to that, Magny had won seven straight fights, including five in 2014 (setting a UFC record for most wins in a calendar year). He also earned performance-of-thenight bonus awards in his last two victories.
