Stars aligning for Fedor finally in the UFC?

The greatest heavyweight in MMA history, Fedor Emelianenko, is coming back from retirement and it looks like he is going to land in the UFC.

The greatest heavyweight in MMA history is coming back from retirement. The question of course is where he lands. The fighter has said he wants to fight the best in the world. That would reduce the promotions he’d sign with to two: Bellator and the UFC.

Fedor has said his team is in negotiations with the UFC, and that it is going well. On the other hand, Dave Meltzer, who knows everything, revealed that there have been 0 negotiations with Bellator.

“We haven’t had any talks with Fedor and his people,” said Bellator president Scott Coker to MMA Fighting. Further, Coker enjoys a good relationship with Fedor, promoted him four times, and employs him as a Bellator ambassador.

Coker gave the impression that isn’t a direction he’s looking at going, noting Emelianenko’s price tag may not make sense for Bellator as a pure television product. He also noted Emelianenko went 1-3 in Strikeforce, and that it would be a difficult deal to put together.

Further, Fedor specifically said he wanted a rematch with UFC heavyweight Fabricio Werdum. That would reduce it to one.
