Stamp Fairtex‘s recent arrival in the U.S. for ONE’s historic debut show in North America was an eye-opening experience.

The Thai megastar faces hometown hero Alyse Anderson (6-2) this Friday, May 5, at “ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III” on Prime Video in front of a sold-out 1STBANK Center in Denver, Colorado, and the high-altitude city is a far cry from her home in Pattaya, Thailand.

Stamp (9-2) was shocked by the immediate effect the elevation had on her when she touched down in the city, and she considers it lucky that she decided to make the journey early to acclimatize in time for the blockbuster show.

“I came to Denver about four weeks ahead of the event because I want to adjust myself to the different time zone and weather. Colorado is located in the highlands with thin air that makes breathing difficult,” the former two-sport ONE world champion said.

“It’s cold, too. So, I need time to adapt myself and feel good before the event. I slept all day on the first day arriving here. On the second day, I tried to go to running to adjust my body, and I found that I was almost out of breath.”

The stakes are high for Stamp in her upcoming atomweight mixed martial arts thriller.

The three-sport wonder currently sits atop the rankings in the stacked division, but there is no shortage of talent nipping at her heels.

A win should see her move toward another shot at the belt, but she takes on Anderson in enemy territory, and the American star will be out for blood as she seeks to make a name for herself.

On top of all that, Stamp has an ironclad chance to make a name for herself in front of a brand-new audience, so it’s no surprise that she is supremely focused on taking out “Lil’ Savage” on Friday night.

“I don’t have a chance to go for city sightseeing. I just want to focus on my conditioning. I’ve visited many gyms to practice wrestling, BJJ, MMA, and muay Thai,” she said.

“I think that my win over Alyse will give me enough credit to take a shot for gold again. I think I will get more fans and hope that the American fans will love me.”
