Spike TV is advertising its channel as “the only place you can actually see Roy Nelson fight” on Fri., Sept. 14, 2012. That may be true, but FX is the only place you can actually see him coach. Would you rather watch “Big Country” fight Kimbo Slice on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10 — or coach against Shane Carwin on TUF 16?
From the official release:
At 8:00 PM, Spike will present an encore telecast of Nelson’s fight with Kimbo Slice from “The Ultimate Fighter 10” which was seen by a staggering 6.1 million viewers.
At 9:00 PM, the network will re-broadcast the “The Ultimate Fighter 10” finale fight card, including Nelson’s triumphant victory over Brendan Schaub. The event also featured current UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones vs. Matt Hamill, Frankie Edgar vs. Matt Veach, and the controversial Kimbo Slice against Houston Alexander. The broadcast delivered 5.2 million viewers that evening, a record for a TUF finale.
