Sonnen vs. Silva likely for Vegas in July
Dana White: “It’s May or July. I think it’s going to be May, which means it will be July now that I said that. I don’t know. One of them.”

Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva are currently coaching the third season of the Ultimate Fighter Brazil and the plan was always for the two to square off afterwards. It looks like now, we know possibly when:
It will happen here, White told MMAjunkie at Madison Square Garden in New York following a media event for Saturday’s UFC 169. It will probably be on the same card as the Weidman-Vitor fight.
But that title fight is up in the air, as well. This past month, after beating Anderson Silva a second time, Weidman told MMAjunkie he hopes to fight Belfort in May so he can have a full summer. The UFC wants that fight either in May in Las Vegas, or in July in Sin City – and apparently is still hashing out the fine print.
It’s May or July. I think it’s going to be May, which means it will be July now that I said that. I don’t know. One of them, White today told MMAjunkie.
The fight of course is a huge one and according to Dana White, no promotion is needed:
“That fight we can do no commercials, no newspaper, no radio, no nothing and that would, people want to see that fight. No, I don’t like guys fighting outside of the Octagon. It’s never happened. If you look at all the guys that we’ve had in there and who have gotten in each others faces and who have done what they’ve done, it’s never come to a real fight. And I told them, ‘hey, you idiots want to fight for free? Okay, I’d love to not pay you. It’s going to be a big fight, I’ll not pay you.’ It’s crazy. That’s how bad they dislike each other.”
