Here’s Ed’s translation of what went down with with “The Phenom”:
“You know what’s funny? About two weeks ago I saw this interview where Vitor told me to keep my mouth shut and then my attourney emailed me this interview where he called me a clown. At the end of the day I said, “That’s cool.” So I called Vitor’s manager because I have his number and I said, “Hey dude. What’s the deal?” Then Vitor called me and I said ‘What’s your problem, bro?’ and we talked it all out man to man. I said, ‘I never said anything about you in the media and I just find it to be disrespectful and if you got something to say, say it to me ‘cos I’ll say it to you. I just did. I called you.’ It wasn’t in a confrontational way. It was just kind of like, ‘Hey, man. We’re grown men.’ It was obvious that…Vitor apologized to me. He said he got caught up in the emotions. He was like, ‘Dude, I got caught up. I started believing in what these reporters were saying you said,’ and I said, ‘Man, if you didn’t hear it come out of my mouth, how can you just believe that?’ But he apologized to me and he even told me that he was going to give a public apology and I said, ‘Hey, dude. There’s no need for that. As long as you and I are straight, I don’t really care what other people say. He said, ‘Okay, cool,’ and then he called me back about an hour and a half later. He said, ‘I really want to do a public apology. I started thinking about it and I’m really sorry. I’m a man and people make mistakes and I apologize. It was my fault that I did that. I said, ‘Hey listen, dude. If you really want to do that, that’s fine — that’s great with me. But like I said, man, it’s straight between me and you. From now on I think if you ask Vitor anything about me, he’s got my number and if there’s something he wants to ask about me, he’ll call me directly. So as far as all that goes, that’s all squashed. I can understand that sometimes emotions get the best of people. Everyone’s human, man. People make mistakes.’
