All doubts about whether Anderson Silva would or would not return to the Octagon were dispelled when Silva’s management started talking about a potential opponent for the fighter’s return.

Co-managers Jorge Guimaraes and Ed Soares said the fighter’s recovery is going better than expected, and resurrected the Superfight with GSP that has been floating for several years.

Don’t you think that’s an option? Guimaraes told MMAjunkie.

He’s walking around on crutches and raising his leg, and he’s just getting ready to start physical therapy when the doctor allows him.”

He’s already moving his toes. I feel that positive vibe on him, and that’s what makes me believe he’s going to come back even stronger.

Co-manager Ed Soares was equally enthusiastic.

Man, if we were able to pull something like that off , it would be a win-win for everybody – the fans, the UFC, said Soares. I think that would be awesome.

Guimaraes said Silva will begin physical therapy next week, after stitches from the surgery come out this week.

Silva posted an update on his recovery via Twitter, with the caption Thank you for the affection of all. I’ll be good, I promise you I will.
