In a post on facebook today, Thiago Silva called out Ryan Bader for a bout at UFC 116. This was widely interpreted as indicating a fight was in the works on that date.

However, Bader’s manager, David Martin, spoke with MMAWeekly.com today and said Ryan Bader will be sidelined for the next 6 weeks with no contact after undergoing surgery on his right hand to repair a torn tendon. The fighter underwent successful surgery last week, and still has a cast on his hand from the operation, and will not be able to do any kind of sparring or training for at least a month and a half.
