UOL: Is there somebody better than you in MMA nowadays?

Anderson Silva: There is always someone better. There are many in my division like Chael Sonnen, who is a great opponent. In his attributes, he’s better than me.

UOL: You hold the UFC consecutive wins record. Does this bother the UFC?

AS: There’s always bother, right? Even more so with me being a Brazilian. I’m happy in the UFC but this sequence of wins bothers them because the promoters think the fights end up losing their intrigue and that people now want to see Anderson Silva lose. But it’s normal, just business.

UOL: Did you run the risk of being suspended by UFC after that contend with Demian?

AS: I repeat: I did nothing contrary to the UFC rules. These rumors of suspension really happened but I didn’t hear it from Dana White’s mouth. He just said he didn’t like the match and that he expected a bit more from me. OK, that’s his right. He knows how to sell a fight and I know how to fight. Each to his own. But our relationship is good.
