Shogun vs. Jimi Manuwa in the works for UFN 56 in Brazil on Nov. 8

Ariel Helwani reported on Wednesday’s UFC Tonight on FOX Sports 1, that Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will be fighting Jimi Manuwa at UFC Fight Night 56 on Nov. 8 at Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlandia, Brazil. The contracts are not signed, but the bout between the light heavyweights is expected to be made.
Shogun, 32, is coming off a loss via nose-breaking H-Bomb to Dan Henderson in March. Manuwa, 34, is also coming off a loss in March, to Alexander Gustafsson. That was the sole loss in Manuwa’s 15-fight career. By contrast, Shogun has gone 6-6 in the same time period, but of course at a much higher level of competition.
Light heavyweights Rafael Cavalcante vs. Ovince St. Preux will also be on the card. Both those fighters are coming off losses to Ryan Bader.
