Today the UFC officially announced a lightweight bout between Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua and Corey Anderson to the May 14th UFC 198 card in Curitiba, Brazil:

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will make his first start of 2016 in his hometown of Curitiba, Brazil, when he faces Corey Anderson at UFC 198 on May 14.

Currently on the mend from an injury that forced him from an April bout against Rashad Evans, Rua – whose last trip to the Octagon saw him defeat Rogerio Nogueira last August – will be ready to go for his matchup with Anderson, a former Ultimate Fighter winner who has won three straight in the Octagon.

In the UFC 198 main event, Fabricio Werdum defends his UFC heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic. In the co-main event, it’s an All-Brazil battle as Vitor Belfort faces Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
