A rumored bout between former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk (33-4-1 MMA, 7-4 UFC) and Clay Guida (25-11 MMA, 5-5 UFC) has been scratched from the UFC’s first live card on Versus.
The March 21 bout was recently described as “abandoned” by FiveOuncesOfPain.com, and MMAjunkie.com has since confirmed that Sherk was removed from the potential matchup for undisclosed reasons.
However, MMAjunkie.com confirmed Friday that Shannon Gugerty (12-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) has agreed to step in for “The Muscle Shark” and face Guida.
