The “new Pride” RIZIN FF has announced that Dan Henderson is out and Frank Shamrock is in vs. Kazushi Sakuraba in a grappling match at Rizin World Grand Prix 2017: Opening Round – Part 2 on October 15, 2017 in Fukuoka, Japan.
Both men are legends in the fight game.
Shamrock hasn’t fought since losing to Nick Diaz at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Diaz on April 11, 2009. He has not competed in any combat sport since.
That hard-drinking, chain-smoking Sakuraba has fought on and on, most recently losing to Shinya Aoki at the Rizin World Grand Prix 2015: Part 1 – Saraba on December 29, 2015. It was his fifth loss in a row.
While Shamrock, 44 and Sakuraba, 48, are not what they once were, this is an incredible match for the hardcore MMA fanbase.
