World Series of Fighting has an excellent main card on Saturday, airing live on NBC Sports Network at 9 p.m. ET:

•David Branch vs. Yushin Okami

•Justin Gaethje vs. Melvin Guillard

•Jessica Aguilar vs. Kalindra Faria

•Jorge Patino vs. Eric Reynolds

Bad news is UFC 180 and Bellator 131 air the same night. Adding to their difficulties, Myron Molotky the president of Brazil’s XFC, says they plan to sue WSoF over the use of Kalindra Faria on the card.

“XFC has an exclusive contract with Ms. Kalindra Faria, which XFC provided to WSOF,” read a statement posted on their website. “Notwithstanding the clear terms of Ms. Faria’s exclusive contract with XFC, WSOF has made it clear it intends to proceed with Ms. Faria’s bout planned for this weekend.

“There is no question that XFC has a valid contract with Ms. Faria and that her fighting in a WSOF match this weekend violates XFC’s rights under that contract.

“As a consequence of WSOF’s actions, XFC is filing suit against WSOF today in the United States District Court in Tampa. XFC is seeking to enforce its rights to the fullest extent of the law.”

Last month when the XFC first claimed that Faria has signed an exclusive two-year contract with the organization, both the fighter and her manager Jorge “Macaco” Patino firmly denied it. Further, MMAJunkie was told that both the fighter and her manager have signed affidavits to that effect.

MMAJunkie can be counted upon in mixed martial arts to investigate stories more complex than “Arianny wore a bikini” and once again they do here.

“Based upon all of the hard evidence we have seen, we believe that the promoter from this other organization falsified documents to show that Kalindra Faria was already under contract with him when she signed a contract agreement with World Series of Fighting, WSOF President Sefo told MMAjunkie via text.

While unable to produce any documentation from the suit for MMAjunkie, Molotky further clarified they would not attempt to block the fight but the promotion would enforce its rights to the fullest extent of the law.

Sefo claims XFC officials were simply looking to cash in on Faria’s opportunity.

This promoter demanded an outrageous fee from World Series of Fighting in exchange for releasing Kalindra from an exclusive contract that he alleges she signed prior to signing with us, and we refused his terms, said Sefo. In any event, we look forward to resolving this issue quickly and moving forward.
