Schaub: Browne made a mistake switching camps

UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub recently appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience, ahead of his fight with Travis Browne at UFC 181 on December 6. Browne recently switched camps, leaving the famed Jackson’s MMA to train with Edmond Taverdyan at the Glendale fight club.
Schaub has familiarity with the camp from the time he was involved with Rousey, and expressed pleasure at the change.
“Obviously, I know Ronda very well and I know that camp pretty well,” said Schaub, as transcribed by David St. Martin for MMAFighting. “I’m not going to go into detail but I think it’s a great thing for me that he’s training there. I’ll put it like that. I think it’s a good thing for me.”
Rogan responded that Schaub would have said the same thing whether he meant it or not.
“I promise I wouldn’t,” said Schaub. “I just wouldn’t say s—. I’m 100 percent, dead serious.”
Schaub replied firmly when asked directly if he thought Browne made a mistake by switching from Greg Jackson to Tarverdyan
“100 percent.” he said. “I don’t give a f—. I’m not worried about him. I’m worried about me.”
There is no acrimony around the switch, with coach Greg Jackson publicly voicing support for the change of camps. Whether it was smart may be answered at UFC 181.
