Things keep getting tough for Diego Sanchez, whom in November had to pull out of the UFC event in Mexico and now this week is dealing with a broken collar bone:
UFC veteran Diego Sanchez has gone under the knife once again, this time to repair a broken collarbone.
Sanchez (25-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC) sustained the injury during training on Monday and today announced he had successful surgery to repair the damage. MMAjunkie confirmed the news with manager Ricky Kottenstette, who said Sanchez should only be sidelined four to six weeks before he can resume training.
Depending on the severity of the break, a collarbone injury can take anywhere from four to 12 weeks to heal completely, according to MedlinePlus. Sanchez’s damage was on the lesser side, Kottenstette said.
