After taking six fights in a ten-month span, it doesn’t appear that UFC middleweight Smilin’ Sam Alvey would back down from any fight. This February he even stepped up to light heavyweight vs. talented Polish prospect Marcin Prachnio. In a recent interview with the Top Turtle MMA Podcast, Alvey admitted that it might not stop there.

You know what? I’m willing to make [the move to 205 lbs.] permanent, but like always, if the UFC wants me at one weight class I’ll get there, said Alvey.

In fact, he’s even willing to make the move to heavyweight. As a large former middleweight and a decent sized light heavyweight, Alvey is confident against whatever comes his way.

I’m just going to keep fighting whoever they put in front of me, he said. I’ve always felt fighting is fighting. Size does matter, but as long as I’m about the right size, I’ll take it.

His concept of fighting anyone at anytime, however, does have a limit. There is exactly one person who Alvey wouldn’t fight under any circumstances.

If they want me at heavyweight, anyone but Ngannou, he states.

And the reason is pretty simple.

Have you ever seen him fight? That’s why, he says with his trademark laugh.

Luckily for him, the UFC seems to be pretty happy where he’s at now and a showdown with The Predator is probably not on anyone’s radar.
