Rutten: Jones is a dirty fighter
The team at Inside MMA recently discussed the bout and Bas Rutten agreed that the techniques were thought out and called Jon Jones ‘dirty’ from employing them.

After his win over Glover Teixeira at UFC 172, the media and fans questioned some tactics employed by Jon Jones, including his open hand pushing of Teixeira’s face and head and his kick to the front of the leg, which often landed to the knee.
The team at Inside MMA recently discussed the bout and MMA legend Bas Rutten agreed that the techniques were thought out and called Jones ‘dirty’ from employing them:
“He is a very calm, relaxed and methodical fighter,” Rutten said. “Because of that, I am sorry that I have to say: yes, he is a dirty fighter. Maybe he was looking down when he pushed the fingers in the eye. I didn’t check that. But he knows exactly what he is doing at any given time, and his fingers were definitely in his face. For a long time he was constantly rubbing them in the face.”
