Rumor: 50 fighters released from UFC

An alert Scandinavian member of the UG cited a report in a local website that the UFC has released nearly 10% of the fighters on the roster.

According to sources MMAnytt standing near the UFC, the organization will do away with 50 fighters over the weekend. The organization currently has around 560 fighters under contract. Which fighters who lose their contracts is currently unclear, but they are expected to get their statements on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Now there appears to be at least partial confirmation that something unusual is going on.

The UFC regularly updates UFC.com to show the current, active roster. When a name no longer appears, although unofficial, it has proven to be a sign that the fighter has been released.
