Royce: Shamrock is a liar

Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock fought for the first time over 22 years ago, with Royce winning via Tapout. The second fight was a draw. Now Gracie, 49, and Shamrock, 52, are having a trilogy fight Friday night in the main event of Bellator 149.

Shamrock says Gracie requested the fight after watching Shamrock lose to Kimbo Slice at Bellator 138 last summer.

Royce was not impressed with that account of how the fight originated.

I didn’t ask for the fight, said Gracie, to MMAjunkie. Ask Scott Coker who asked for the fight.

So (Shamrock) doesn’t just talk too much, but he lies too.

I’m at home. I’m ready to do it today. I was ready to do it when we signed, when we announced it.

Slice is in the co-main, in an MMA King of the Streets title fight with DaDa 5000.
