In an unexpected announcement, UFC President Dana White announced that Ronda Rousey will defend her title in only two months time.
Rousey will fight Sarah McMann in February for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight title at UFC 170 which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Cat Zingano was the number one contender before her injury, but won’t resume training until March of 2014, so Rousey opted to fight sooner. McMann is currently undefeated as a professional at 7-0 and is a former Olympic wrestler.
The bout between Rousey and McMann will serve as the main event for the show with Daniel Cormier versus Rashad Evans taking the co-main slot.
