Ronda Rousey was once the most famous fighter in mixed martial arts. Now she hopes to become the most famous cast member in the WWE. She is doing the media rounds and is bubbly when discussing her new career. However, when asked about her exit from MMA, which came after back to back losses, Ronda Rousey is not bubbly.

‘Rowdy’ appeared recently on ESPN Radio’s “Golic and Wingo” show, and responded awkwardly to an awkwardly phrased question from Mike Golic about the possibility of a return to MMA.

Mike Golic: Let’s go back and start when you knew from the, the MMA when you were done there. When you knew in your mind, I’m not going to fight anymore?

Ronda Rousey: I never said that.

MG: Ah, so there is a possibility that you could go back, in time?

RR: There’s a possibility that I could go back in time? That’s your question to me?

MG: Go back, in time, and fight. Go back in the Octagon.

RR: I do not have the ability to go back in time, no.

MG: No. Would you fight again?

RR: I don’t know.

It comes down a comma. Golic meant, “Could you go back [to fighting], in time?” Rousey heard, “Could you go back in time?” And the interview thereafter was reasonable.

However, Rousey appeared later the same day on First Take with Max Kellerman. If there was an awkward interview Olympics, Rousey would be in medal contention.

When Rousey first lost, Kellerman had said that Ronda Rousey was not overrated if the previous rating was “sober.” That is to say, Rousey was overrated if you had previously rated her the best female athlete in the world. If you rated her the greatest female MMA fighter, then that was not an overrating. The distinction is a little subtle and was made after many hours of straight interviews, and apparently, Rousey didn’t like it.

When Kellerman again addressed Rousey’s loss, she got her game face on.

I experience a lot of people who quote some people that are really just afraid to state their own opinion, said Rousey.

Kellerman asked if Rousey thought he thought she was overrated, and said emphatically that he wasn’t.

Well, thank you for defending me, I appreciate that, said Rousey, a little sarcastically.

So Rousey gets a little heated when her losses are talked about by lazy reporters. Or does she? Could this be kayfabe?

Probably not, as the act was utterly convincing.

Rousey will tag team with fellow Olympic medalist Kurt Angle against Stephanie McMahon and Triple HHH on April 8 in WrestleMania 34.
