The accolades for UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey continue.
Earlier this year Business Insider magazine published a list of 50 women worldwide who are changing the world. Rousey made the list at #42, ahead of Margaret Thatcher (RIP) and Sara Blakely, the world’s youngest self-made billionaire in the world. Notables appearing ahead of Rousey include Hillary Clinton, and the anonymous first female head of the CIA’s Clandestine Service.
Now the authoritative Time magazine has name Rousey, 26, to their list of 30 People Under 30 Changing the World.
“Ronda Rousey is the first-ever woman to sign with the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) mixed martial arts company,” reads the citation. “In February, she beat fellow trailblazer Liz Carmouche in a historic UFC match. Rousey is updating the face of female athletics through her tough skills and commercial successes.”
While Rousey has come under fire from many members of the hardcore fan base for her demeanor during the latest season of TUF, it might be instructive to remember the words of our greatest president, when people complained that general Grant was drinking too much.
“When some one charged Gen. Grant, in the President’s hearing, with drinking too much liquor, Mr. Lincoln, recalling Gen. Grant’s successes, said that if he could find out what brand of whisky Grant drank, he would send a barrel of it to all the other commanders.”

Whatever it is that Rousey is doing, the sport needs more if it.
