Ronda Rousey, Jon Jones, Chris Weidman, and Ronda Rousey were nominated for ESPY awards in Best Fighter, Best Female Athlete, and Biggest Upset.
In 2007 ESPN changed their Best Boxer category to Best Fighter, including mixed martial artists. Since that time Randy Couture, Rampage Jackson, Jon Jones, Lyoto Machida, Anderson Silva, and Georges St. Pierre have received nominations.
No MMA Fighter has ever won the award. By contrast, Floyd Mayweather Jr has won five times.
This year three MMA fighters make an appearance, one of them twice.
