Rousey first MMA figure to host SNL

Ronda Rousey broke some new ground Saturday night, live from New York City. She was the first figure from mixed martial arts to host the show. She was also only the third female ever to do so, after Chris Evert and Nancy Kerrigan. And she was only the third figure from combat sports to do so, after Marvelous Marvin Hagler, and George Foreman.
She probably shouldn’t quit her day job, but doing live stand up comedy in front of countless millions would be daunting for a professional comic. And it could be that the script writers should quit their day job – she wasn’t given much to work with. The coolest part of the opening monologue clearly came from her – she offered Holly Holm congratulations.

Watching #SNL and it looks like @rondarousey still needs help on her standup
On balance though, this was an excellent night for Ronda Rousey, and as she is and remains the most famous figure in the sport, and excellent night for mixed martial arts.
