Werdum is coming off a stunning knockout loss to Stipe Miocic at UFC 198 in his first official title defense of the heavyweight title.
Rothwell is also coming off a loss, to former champion Junior Dos Santos. The bout is an important one in the division as the winner will stay in title contention and the loser will fall back in the title hunt.
