Rothwell beats Overeem in stunning upset

The co-main event of UFC Fight Fight Night 50 at Foxwoods featured a heavyweight bout between Ben Rothwell and Alistair Overeem.

Ben Rothwell def. Alistair Overeem, TKO (Round 1, 2:19)

Overeem was a heavy favorite and looked confident in the opening of the round, landing effective strikes from the outside. However, Rothwell’sgameplan was to set up a right hand, and he did.

Overeem was out the fight, and given the size of his contract, could conceivably be out of the UFC.
