UFC featherweight ‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas is on a three-fight win streak, following a decision win in a rematch with Tecia Torres in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 19, Saturday night. Torres won the first fight nearly three years ago at Invicta FC 6, also by unanimous decision. This was the first loss for Torres.

Rose’s next fight could well be for the title, vs. the winner of division champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Claudia Gadelha, at The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale in Las Vegas on July 8. That would likely push her next fight out to the Fall, and that suits Rose fine right now.

Right now I’m in no rush, said Namajunas at the post-fight press conference, as transcribed by Matt Erickson and Steven Marrocco for MMAjunkie. “Initially, I thought I’d be ready to jump back in there. But I think that a few months off would do me some good mentally, along with physically – I’ve got a few (injuries) here and there going into this fight. Mentally, mostly I need to find the fun in life again. This last (fight) turned into a bit of a job leading up to it.

This was definitely the toughest training camp of my life up to this point. There were so many crazy things that led up to this fight, but everything at the very end would just work itself out. It just kept letting me know to just have faith and believe in myself. There were so many times I wanted to quit and not even try.

Right now, I want a break to enjoy the fight world as a fan just for a second. But I’ll be fired up to get back in there and improve on my things in my fighting eventually, but right now it’s about having fun just for a little bit.
