Ronda’s mom HATES Ronda’s coach sofa king much
“I’d say, ‘How the F@$% do you think I am? I’m in your F@$%ing gym and I f@$%king hate you.’ So now he doesn’t ask me how I am anymore.”
Yesterday UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey’s mother, Dr. AnnMaria De Mars went public with her thoughts about her daughter’s coach Edmond Tarverdyan. It was the verbal equivalent of what ‘Rowdy’ does to her opponents.
Today Dr. De Mars, the first American to win gold at the world Judo Championship and a 6th degree black belt in Judo, did it again, worse. It was the verbal equivalent of what the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho warriors did to Custer and co at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
“You probably don’t want to hear some of the things I told Ronda’s coach, who I hate,” she began. “There’s a lot of swearing involved in that. I think you would have to beep all of it.’
“I will tell you this. Every time I go in his gym, he used to say, ‘How are you?’ And I’d say, ‘How the F@$% do you think I am? I’m in your F@$%ing gym and I f@$%king hate you.’
“So now he doesn’t ask me how I am anymore.”
“I hate him. I would run over him with my car in there wasn’t a law against it. Yes, you can say his name. Who the f@$% is he? He’s not like f@$%ing The Nameless One from Harry Potter.
“I HATE that guy. He’s like the most worthless human being God ever put on this Earth.”
In an interview with former US Judo team captain Dr. Rhadi Ferguson, Dr. De Mars explained why she hates Tarverdyan so very much.
Because he is extremely disrespectful to women, De Mars explained, as transcribed by Jack Bratcher for ProMMANow. If you read in Ronda’s book, you know when she walked into his gym she had been a Junior World gold medalist, Olympic medalist, World medalist in judo and he (Tarverdyan) didn’t give her the time of day. And he has had that exact same pattern with many women in the gym and I have seen it with my own eyes where they train there and it’s basically a waste of their time. And they’re talked to in a way that just makes my jaw drop.
(Ronda and I) talked about it before and she said, ‘Oh I got a fight coming up.’ You only get that pass from me once. Whatever she wants to do in her career, that’s her business, but if you’re in a situation where you’re really causing harm to other people by being used as bait to lure people in there, I think somebody needs to speak up. And all I did was say publicly what people have been whispering for years, but no one had the balls to speak up because Edmond is like that gatekeeper to Ronda.
Ronda Rousey fights Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193 on Nov. 14 in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. De Mars fights who ever she wants to.
