UFC lightweight Conor McGregor is the most famous fighter in MMA but hasn’t fought in over a year, or defended his belt, and never defended the featherweight belt, either. Fans are understandably eager that he enter the Octagon at his earliest convenience. However, on a Recent JRE MMA show, color commentator Joe Rogan had some alternate advice.

“He’s on top of the world, look, let him enjoy this, said Rogan, as transcribed by Chisanga Malata for The Express. He’s got plenty of time to come back to fighting. Just have fun man, stare at your watches, take Instagram pictures of your d***, who cares!”

You’re the f***ing man. You made $100m and you’re not even 30. Relax. Do whatever the f*** you want, there’s no need to force him to fight.

As for who McGregor competes against next, first in line is a negotiation with the UFC. In September ‘Notorious’ named eight possible opponents for his next bout: Tony Ferguson, Kevin Lee, Nate Diaz, Paulie Malignaggi, Floyd Mayweather, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, and Georges St-Pierre.

The boxing pool expanded to include Manny Pacquiao, but McGregor appears to be leaning towards MMA. Lee and Gathje lost so are out of the mix, leaving Tony Ferguson, Georges St-Pierre, Nate Diaz, and Khabib Nurmagomedov, more or less in that order.
