I interviewed him last week. He’s in shape. At least he looks in shape. He’s much leaner than I’ve seen him in the past and thick as fuck. Who knows what he’s actually doing, and we really don’t know much until he gets in there, but as far as training is going he’s saying the right things. He’s talking about working with wrestlers, and he’s talking about how much harder the training is than anything he was doing for boxing. It’s very interesting.

Who the hell knows what it’s going to look like once he’s in there, but could you imagine how fucking crazy people are going to go if he can stuff a take down or two? Or, if he defends himself a bit on the ground?

This was a fight that I thought would be fairly straight forward when I first heard it. I thought there was no way he could stop Randy from taking him down. That still may very well be the case, but talking to Toney and thinking about it has really got me fascinated about this fight. If Toney can keep it standing even for a little bit we’re gonna see some hands that we’ve never seen in the UFC before. Even at 41, with 4oz gloves on that dude can do some fucking DAMAGE. Can he keep it on the feet, even just for a little? Can he juggle take down defense and his own offense successfully, or will he be less competent on his hands than he would be in a boxing match? Who the fuck knows, but I’m interested in finding out.
