Killer instinct is usually something a fighter has or doesn’t. It’s not generally something you can learn. UFC middleweight Luke Rockhold knows he has it:
If I get on him, it’s going to be hell. I have the killer instinct. I’m not going to be laying on him. I’m going to be looking to fire if I am on him.
Ultimately, Rockhold is aiming to make up for lost time and emerge as a top contender. If he can string a few wins together, he sees himself situated right at the top of the 185-division.
“I believe I’m in the mix. I need a solid win here, put me into a big fight and another win could potentially launch me into that title contention, Rockhold explained. I’m confident in my abilities with any of these guys. The middleweight division is deadly right now. There’s so many good guys coming in, [Lyoto] Machida came down, [Gegard] Mousasi’s coming back and Jacare [Souza] is dangerous as hell. I know that.
