A broken arm has forced Jorge Rivera out of his UFC 118 bout with Alessio Sakara.

The 39-year-old made the announcement on his facebook page earlier today, Due to the fact that I have broken my arm and will not be healed in time, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to fight at UFC 118 in Boston. I hope to be fighting again late September – October. Thank you for your support.

The Milford native and Middleweight is on an impressive three fight win streak. In his last fight he dominated Nate Quarry, stopping him via TKO in the second round, at UFC Fight Night in March.

UFC 118 at the TD Garden is the first UFC event to take place in Boston. Though the event will air live on pay-per view, Rivera’s fight was scheduled to be shown live on Spike TV prior to the 10 p.m. main card.
